Most carnivals are held within the Illawarra/South Coast area and all members; both junior and senior are encouraged to compete for the club.
JUNIOR: Children in the Under 8 to Under 14 age groups are eligible to compete at carnivals, most of which are held in the Illawarra or South Coast areas. Bulli does not have any selection criteria for these carnivals. (Note: Children in the Under 6 and 7 age groups only attend weekly Club activities.)
First Carnival: Sat 20/10/07 @8am at Bellambi. Check the Club Calendar for further dates. * For all children that are in the Under 8s and up THIS year and wish to do carnivals please contact Carnival Coordinator, Samantha Waldon BEFORE the first carnival.
SENIOR: Senior competitors are U16 and over. Active Seniors must be Proficient and have completed a minimum of 25 patrol hours in the last calendar year.
Annual Carnivals
Carnivals are divided into Junior/Senior. Some are held on the same day (Sydney Water), while most are held on either the Saturday or Sunday of the same weekend. All children are welcome and encouraged to attend. Note: Those wishing to compete at the Illawarra branch championship carnival must have attended three carnivals beforehand. SYDNEY WATER SERIES Carnivals Usually held fortnightly from mid - late November annually, comprising 4 carnivals where points accumulate and prizes awarded to Age Champions at the Final Round. Conducted on Saturdays, junior carnivals are held in the morning, with seniors in the afternoon. McDONALDS JUNIOR Carnival A junior one-day carnival held in early February, with medals for first, second and third placegetters in all events.
ILLAWARRA BRANCH Carnival Sponsored by Bluescope Steel, this carnival is held over 2 days for both Junior and senior competitors and is restricted to clubs within the Illawarra Branch (Helensburgh - Wollongong).
TRI NATIONS INTERCLUB Carnival This junior carnival between Thirroul, Sandon Point and Bulli junior surf clubs. A fun carnival, all juniors from age groups from 6-14 is invited to participate.
NSW STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS Held over 3 days for juniors on the last weekend in February, the 2008 carnival will be held at Umina on the central coast. As part of the entry fee, a club uniform is supplied for each competitor.

All competitors at carnivals should arrive at least half an hour prior to starting time and report to the club’s Team Manager. Look for the Sandon Point Scorpion tent or members from the club!
